COP29 Earth Diplomacy Leadership workshops start October 21

COP29 Earth Diplomacy Leadership workshops start October 21

The Earth Diplomacy Leadership Initiative is a collaboration between Citizens’ Climate International and The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Its core aim is to prepare people for participation in the UN Climate Change negotiation process, and to deepen understanding of the opportunities for engagement and progress on specific areas of climate crisis response and sustainable development.

The Pre-COP29 cycle of workshops will open on Monday, October 21, 2024, and will run as follows:

  • Mon, Oct 21 – The Process
  • Thu, Oct 24 – The Stakes
  • Mon, Oct 28 – Enhanced Multilateral Cooperation
  • Thu, Oct 31 – Mutual Gains Approach to Negotiation
  • Mon, Nov 4 – Informal review and discussion of insights

All sessions will begin at 9:00 am ET. Each of the session pages includes notes about time changes in different parts of the world. Please check the time difference from UTC for start times in your area. Registered participants will also receive reminders ahead of each session.

In addition to the background materials offered for each of the workshops, we also maintain a detailed COP29 resource library. The resource library provides a curated overview of key comments, commitments, and new approaches to international climate cooperation, announced or activated on the way to the UN Climate Change negotiations taking place in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

We hope to see you in the Pre-COP29 Earth Diplomacy Leadership sessions.
